Why do we need a V Encuentro?

To Strengthen Our Catholic Identity

We must strengthen the ways in which Hispanic/Latinos respond to the call to the New Evangelization. To do so, we must engage second and third generation Hispanic/Latinos.

To Engage Millions of Hispanic/Latino Catholics

Hispanics consitute about 60% of all Catholics under 18 in the United States. Hispanic/Latinos are becoming the emerging majority in the nation, so it is necessary for the Church to develop 20,000 intercultural competent Hispanic/Latino leaders nationwide, enabling the Church to engage.

To Answer our Baptismal Call to Mission & Holiness

It is our mission as Catholics to promote in the United States, and the world, the social teachings of the Catholic faith. With a prophetic voice, Catholics ought to promote communities that respect and sustain Gospel values, values that keep families together and promote the protection of God's creation.
