History of St. Thomas The Apostle

St. Thomas the Apostle Church enjoys a rich 100+ year history. Starting as a Mission in 1903, St.Thomas was an education center for the early American Indians of the western United States. It was founded by the Diocese of San Diego and incorporated as a parish in 1914.

From it's inception leadership has moved through the years from Diocesan priests, to the Jesuits and the Franciscans and transferred back to the Diocese of San Bernardino in 2000 when Fr. Joseph Felker was appointed pastor. Under Fr. Felker's pastoral leadership, St. Thomas was presented the 2008 Best of Riverside Award" for Best Place of Worship.

The parish celebrates a rich diversity, a collaborative spirit and vibrant enthusiasm, looking with great anticipation to a future in which the Spirit's presence is nourished in it's life and activity.
